Iyanla Vanzant Quotes

A few of the quotes from Iyanla Vanzant that I copied for me off the Internet this morning:

"The only thing that goes on in your life is what you allow (underscored--I don't know how to do that) to go on in your life."

"You gotta own your stuff, baby girl.  You gotta own your stuff.  It's not about "them."

"You can have all the (dating) criteria in the world, but what you draw to you is what you are.  If you'e not abundant in self-esteem and self-respect and self worth (in your heart) you're not going to draw somebody that's the same way."    (That would have been clearer if she'd said somebody who is.)

"All human beings make mistakes.  We make choices and judgments that have...nothing to do with the truth of who we are."

"Choice is our point of power.  And when we're not paying attention to our lives, we don't make conscious choices--which means that we're living by habit or by default."

She was on "The Talk" this afternoon...quite a character.  I understand she has her own show on the Oprah network.  I listened and we have very similar experiences and understandings.   (((hugs))) smile

Wow.. I like that one that says, "Choice is a point of power"... Today I have choices that I never knew existed.  How, who and when I engage someone is a choice.  Not a knee jerk reaction anymore.
