Several months ago, I read something (can't remember where) that suggested to keep track of personal life bank accounts. Just as we make deposits, withdrawals and balance our real bank accounts, keeping track of other areas of life can help to keep us in check.
I started a running list that I keep open on my computer everyday. My goal is to make one deposit into each account every week. Originally, I wanted to do it daily, but that was too much.
I made a list of what was important for me to keep balanced. Here is my list for this week: Finances: added new bill to online bill pay Career: finished project on time. organized online files. Relationships (Dating, Family, Friends): two dates, called friend Therapy: read chapter on forgiveness, reading message boards, bought new book Spirituality: still working on how to connect HP and pray. asked two friends how they pray. Health/Fitness: went to two classes at gym House Organization: organized hall closet
Basically this is just a goal tracking list, but I liked the "life account" idea. Some of my deposits are pretty basic sometimes, but it keeps me moving forward!!
It is good that you have a goal. For me I put all my bank information so that I can watch all the time how much I have and what is happen. I have one with the joint account so that he can't take money out of the account to buy alchol or drugs because he knows it does every transaction so that is why he can't take the money out. He know that I check it all the time. I also have money on the side that I have for my own personal account and he has one of his own. So we don't have to justify what we buy. So that is where is beer and drugs is bought. I am not planning to every put my money together. I even how sperate cds with my money that i got one i was little and is saving which is my money.
