Hi I am new here, and thought i'd pop by to say hi. I was thinking about going to an al-anon group but they are too far away for me to go so I thought I'd see if there was some thing online. Does this forum act like discussions had in the group sessions? x

Hello Charli  Welcome to Miracles in Progress

We have on line meetings here 2xs  day.  Here is the link for tonights:

 

 

The website link to the group meeting room is

http://www.12stepforums.net/chatroom2.html. There are other ways to join the room also. Using mIRC or other chat client, the server we are on is irc.chat4all.org, port 6667. which users will need to add to their IRC server list, and our room name (#alanonchat) to their IRC channels

 

Attend meetings share on the Board and read others posting.  That is the way we learn and grow.

I just want to welcome you.  If you don't have in person alanon meetings close to home, there are are a number of Alanon meetings you can attend online. Reading here and posting can be helpful too.  I hope you keep coming back for recovery with us.  TT

Hello Charli.
THis is a really good site. I started my recovery here lots of years ago. I couldn't get to meetings because of having children. Its also worth going on the Alanon web site. You can get literature and leaflets from there. The merry go round called denial is a really good one.
I use my daily readers to keep me on track.
The message board here is brilliant. Any questions or comments ARE replied to.
