Need to surrender

I was active in Alanon for 13 years and then all of a sudden left the program. I need to get back to it and learn once again how to treat myself well. I need all the help I can get. Glad to be back on board.

Hi Leeno.
How long is it that you've been away? I can understand why people need a break from it. It can be easy to feel we've learned all we're going to learn. I personally have been in a situation where I found my group frustrating LOL I think because people weren't taking service or doing the roles properly....as in not attending etc. It began to feel I was holding too much in the group and it became stressful.
I think I not them kind of lost my focus for a while.. I wasn't enjoying it.
BUT......it didn't take long for my head to fill with all the old rubbish though....
Luckily I'm in a fortunate position in that there are plenty of groups around so I could change my home group and gain some perspective again.
I think its all part of the journey.
Hope you enjoy finding your way again x
