Got through the weekend

Keep up the good news please!  I am glad you shared a happy post.  Does a body good once in a while smile just to hear

I know what by the hour is like.   the first week my ABF was sober, he would ask me how many hours he had been sober.  Once it hit a week, it just got to hard for me to figure out any more, but i will if he asks me wink.  These days (3 weeks and one day sober), we go by daily any more, just trying to get through one more day.  We did get some good news today.  ABF had his gallbladder out this morning.  And while his liver are showing signs of cirrosis  and fat build up (common for alcoholics), it wasn't nearly as bad as the doctor had thought it would be, with the amount of beer he had been consuming. And my ABF is starting to get excited about our plans over the next few months of getting an apartment setup in our basement for my daughter and grandson.  It is nice to have him participating in life again and starting to get excited again!  happy happy post biggrin

Thanks to my HP, and some good friends, I made it through the weekend.  My AH went to DUI hotel for four days.  I was concerned because it was a very busy weekend that we were supposed to work a project together.  I feel empowered and hopeful.  He came out of the weekend very humbled.  He was astonished at the lack of respect the other attendees showed the people running the weekend.  He heard and saw things that really woke him up and scared him.  He is now 43 days sober and I am thankful for the peace that is now in our home.  We had a very good talk on Sunday night about that.  He said that he has learned a lot about why he would drink to intoxication.  He learned a lot about himself and things he needs to keep in check, and things he needs to change.  So, I wanted to share a good story with everyone.  Taking it one hour at a time.
