We were watching Lord of the Rings, Part Two, Extended Version (highly recommended to those who like LOTR) and I saw the scene that birthed my MIP Nickname. Arwen is giving Aragorn this silver jewelry thing, he tries to get her to take it back, not give it, and she tells him it is hers to give, like my heart. (so THATs where that came from!)
Jan 25th, 2011 was the day I created a profile on this board. Like countless others I was a lurker for a while but not too long because so many posts brought a response to mind.
Over the last two years Ive tried to figure out just where Id taken (plagiarized) the name from, thought maybe it was Pooh in origin because, I like Poohs simple take on life, simple wisdom.
I like a lot of the simple wisdom in the LOTR movies too it is up to us to decide what to do with the time we are given being one of my favorites.
Mr. ExA still lives in squalor and chaos and still blames me for his plight; I get updates about him from time to time, though I try not to spend too much time thinking about it. We still battle over the motorcycle; I am waiting for word from a Judge on whether he sees things my way and gives it back to me. (silently repeating the phrase, Thy will be done when I notice myself obsessing too much).
I live in peace; I work too much but it helps get me through it; Im looking forward to this spring and summer like I havent in a while; I got a lot accomplished over the last year, a lot of re-affirming who I still am despite the insanity circus I escaped from. Ive got a surprising number of people I call friends or friendly acquaintances, more than Id ever thought possible for introverted little me I still love how it can take me an hour to walk down four blocks to the post office and back because of the people I run into and chat with. I cherish the chaos free existence I have, I understand that loneliness driven relationships just dont work, I appreciate that I have enough work to pay my bills, I appreciate my landlady who keeps my rent low so I can afford to live here, so many things to appreciate about the way my life is now.
What I am really really REALLY happy to see is, that my heart is still here, that the disease didnt destroy it completely, (though it has hidden under the rock I call work for a long time now).
It would be too hard to name all the wonderful people here whos words have helped me over the last two years without forgetting someone - so thank you everyone - Cheers!

And for me I am grateful you made it here. I still love the significance of your avatar for me because child-like innosence is one of my daily sought after characteristics. YES!! I wish the motorcycle for you...please remember the training wheels (LOL) Grateful for you finding MIP. ((((hugs))))
Thank you for your wisdom and for such a beautiful share. One day after I read one of your posting, I can remember thinking, if not saying: " My goodness, I too like your heart."
Love your share .. sigh .. I watch LOTR for Mr. Viggo himself. LOL .. my kids cringe when I want to watch it .. LOL.
I hope you get that motorcycle and take lessons for yourself!! It is a freeing experience to control something with that kind of horse power on the roads :)
Hugs P :)

Thanks so much for sharing your story! Good luck with the judge and getting the bike back. I hope that happens for you. I'm glad you're a part of our mip family and keep coming back to share with us! Hugs TT

I like your moniker too. It's inspiring :) Mine came from AA and picking up chips for length of time in sobriety. I had 60 days sober when I found MIP (this was also 60 days after breaking off with my ex-A as my 1st day sober was also the day I ended that relationship). In AA meetings, 60 days is where you get a pink chip (at least in beginner's meetings). I was really clinging to those chips in the first year lol. Here it is over 4 years later...
It's awesome to look back on your life and reflect on how you are in a better spot now. Essentially, that is "how it works" because it's all your ESH when you talk about "What it was like, what happened, and What it's like now." That is how we share in 12 step groups and that is the curative power that exists to be tapped into.
So in a nutshell, thanks for showing us how it works!!!
