The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
After several relapses, two rehab stays, 3 different sober living facilities, my 20yo son is officially homeless. Fortunately, I have Al Anon, a wonderful sponsor and supportive friends and family. I repeat the serenity prayer, the three C's, the slogans over and over and over again. I read my literature. I pray to my HP for the strength to let go and let my son's HP help him through what's ahead. I pray for the strength not relapse from my program and let him move home.
I just said a prayer for you and your son. I feel you pain, I'm letting go of my a/a daughter and her adult son, it's always something with them, he just called and I didn't pick up, I feel badly about it. I'm learning to take care of myself, he doesn't seem to understand "no".
It's hard, but we can do it with HP (God's) help!

I'm also going through this with my son. He will be homeless soon.
With the help of my HP, Al-anon and my strength I will make it though this. I will not enable him again. My adult Child needs to grow up without mom's help. No more.....he is more than capable of taking care of himself any way he see fit. This is the best thing I can do for him now.

I feel so fortunate to find others experiencing the same think I am going through right now. My 21 y.o. son is doing well in school and will soon graduate but is drinking and engaging in illegal activities (and is a convicted felon on parole so it is even worse). I have told him he cannot come home unless he goes to Rehab again but I have been searching this page for validation. Thank you all for sharing your experiences--it really helps.
