I have seen a few posts recently and wanted to share my thoughts on something...
Everyone here (EVERYONE) is a success story. I was told by my father many years ago nothing in life that is worthwhile comes easy. How true this is. Some work things out with the alcoholic in their life and the alcoholic gets the help they need and we do too. Others end up starting a life that does not include the alcoholic and cutting off that tie, whether it is leaving a spouse, sending an adult child out in the world on their own, cutting off contact with parent, etc, etc. Through it all, one thing remains is that we are still standing and still living. The end of our story is true happiness. The details of each and every person may vary, but the happiness is there. So next time you are sitting and wondering, just think that you are a success story in the process of being written and you will succeed!
Well said, hdftby100. I read this quote today, There are moments when troubles enter our lives and we can do nothing to avoid them. But they are there for a reason. Only when we have overcome them will we understand why they were there. I don't know where it came from, but it is so true. We can't change the things that happen to us, but we can change the way we react and help ourselves to be better for them.
