Hello, this is my first post. My daughter is an active alcoholic and just moved herself and her children into my house due to a broken relationship. I have felt for years that she isn't raising them right due to her alcoholism and now I am seeing it in my own home. It pains me to see the children not cared for properly. They don't deserve it in the least. What do I do?
What a painful situation. Im sorry youre going through this. I have custody of my grand daughter because of this, and Im glad to do it, as difficult as it has been, and complicated as well. My suggestion- collect as much information you can from resources in and out of AlAnon, state resources, counsellors, whomever can give you sound advice. Dont make a decision until you feel that you can make one thats best for the children. Prayers to you and those little ones.

Breaking the isolation caused by this disease and sharing with others who truly understand you will find the correct way to handle your questions
