Hi EXF

Alanon is a Fellowship of people who have or do live with the disease of alcoholism. Alcoholism is a THINKING disease over which we are powerless . This means that just because the drinking stopped, alcoholism is still present in the person.
Alanon tools, focusing on ourselves, living one day at a time, meetings, steps all give us new tools to live by so that we can take care of ourselves in every situation
Alanon Face to Face meetings are available in your community. Check out the hotline number in the white pages and plan to attend . Literature that can be found at meetings are:
How Alanon Works
When I got Busy , I got Better
Courage to Change
One Day at a Time
Dilemma of the Alcoholic Marriage
Welcome and keep coming back

I would look at Toby Rice Drews books. A series called, "Getting them Sober". Each book in the series is about a different topic(s) so you may need to do a little research. Betty gave some wonderful recommendations and the Dilemma of the Alcoholic Marriage is a good one, too.

I second the Getting Them Sober series written by Toby Rice Drews and Codependent No More by Melody Beattie although she has several great ones too. There are three daily readers I love to start my day with, Courage to Change, One Day at a Time and Hope For Today. I got most of my books from face to face meetings, that is also where I found my sponsor and started my step work. Things have gotten so much better along with my attitude on most things these days. Sending you love and support on your journey!

I read a good one this weekend called An Addict In The House. It was a quick easy read and had a lot of information and stories I could relate too.
