Resolutions

I sincerely hope that everyone was able to find some peace during the stress of Christmas.  Now that the new year is fast approaching (where did the last one go?) so many of us make annual resolutions.

I while trying to find a topic to chair on for my f2f tonight had a thought I wanted to share with everyone.  So many of us who are struggling or have struggled with the effects of this incideous disease try year after year to make resolutions that are unattainable.  This brought me to the principles of this program in my thought process.  This program is really simple - we however, complicate it through our words and actions.  So here is what I propose - instead of making the same old resolutions - why not make a program resolution?   A committment to your self and your recovery.  A simple resolution to live a slogan, trust in HP, attend more meetings, believe in yourself, love yourself, find a sponsor, work the steps, etc...  All of these are attainable, and the nice thing is that you can change your resolutions to suit the need.  Once a month, every day, or every minute.  Whatever is going to help you find serenity in your life.

To each and everyone here - have a Happy New Year, for you deserve it.  And if you keep program in your life and heart - you will have happiness.

Karen

Dear AlaMom,
What a great idea
Last year I kept mine simple and only wished for "Happiness" knowing that I was in charge of making that happen
Take care with lots of well wishes, Tracey

That is such a good idea.  I never make new year resolutions because I don't stick to them but this is something that I can apply for my serenity overall.  Thanks a lot alamom for sharing that.  Luv Leo xx

I decided a few wks ago when I was thinking of what resolutions I was going to make that the best for me would be to keep at my program.

1) physical health - Curves, WATP, eat healthy (time to get back on track now that Christmas is over)

2) spiritual - keep going to the Church I joined in Oct

3) mental - keep going to Sat morn meeting

Good luck everyone. See you here New Years Eve
