loved one going through w/drawl

Welcome radarly

I second what Jerry  has suggested. While your partner is in rehab it will be a great time to check  out  Alanon.  Alanon is a fellowship of people who live with or have lived with the problem of alcoholism.  We believe that alcoholism is a disease  over which we are powerless.  We also know that because we lived with ths disease we need a recovery program of our own, in order to reclaim our lives and our true selves

Keep coming back here as well. There is hope

I'm new to this site. The past 4 days have been difficult as my boyfriend has been going through w/drawl.

Tomorrow he will be entering an inpatient rehab program. However, I am having a difficult time dealing with

this emotional roller coaster.

Welcome (((radar)))
Al-Anon is a good place to be if we are sharing our life with alcoholics. We all here know that emotional roller coaster you are mentioning. We also all care, and can feel with you.
We are indeed powerless about the disease of alcohol, but we are not powerless about our own person, thoughts, feelings and actions.

I hope you can come back often enough and stay here long enough to learn enough about the disease and its effects and gain strength for yourself.
Al-Anon is not a sect, not a religion, not superstitious, not a law....it is life as it happens, with people that learn to deal with it in a caring way, through sharing, listening and changing and acting. Alcoholism is extreme, in every way...
Glad you found MIP. keep coming back.
