Why do they keep asking?

Why cant't A/A accept you mean "No" when you say it, they will come back a short time (a few days/wks.) and ask the same thing or something else again. It's a shame to have to detach from most of my family and not have anything to do with them at all.  I still say no, still not easy, I let it get into my mind, but only for a short time.  I'm getting better, but I hate it.  These are my kids/grandkids, I think its harder to detach with them, with the family emashment, but I wish they would go away or grow up.

Happy N/Y to all.  I'm determine to keep working my program, I know that my HP (God) is with me and they will finally get it.

That is exactly how practice works and when I learned that I stopped getting angry and started getting grateful because I also realized that I was teaching my value system which I also though was pretty good. I hung/hang around for discussion which I work into bonding with the children, grand-children and great-grand-children.  It's not scary at all...I don't think. LOL   ((((hugs)))) smile

Generally, people who do this (no matter what their age) is based on the reality that they want you to change your mind. The best way to respond is something like "We've discussed this before. I gave you my answer then. Why do you think my answer's changed?"

You know, it's funny, I've just recently started practicing this- daughter wants a car, but doesn't want to work for one, other daughter wants a new this or that, another wants money, another wants free dental work, yadda yadda yadda- I don't think it's a mistake that my HP moved me the hell out of Michigan and away from all that. Now they do it by phone all the time. What a pain they've been, and the ex wife puts them up to it when she can't handle saying no- pus the old "ask your father, he has all the money, were poor" crap, as if I'm not sending almost 1000.00 a month out there. I think I do my part, who's doing theirs?

Manipulation aside, some have memory issues from alcohol abuse.  TT
