My program at work...you betch ya

Got that call  from my son and I just let him talk about what he has started, done and will be doing.  All good.  I can only pray he will follow through.

What I did.....which was very small for some but BIG BIG BIG for me.

I had told him I would not be taking or picking him up from the hospitals or detox center anymore and he understood.  Today he said he did have a appointment set up for Friday with a out patient clinic but he had to change it because he couldn't get the ride service to come until around 4pm Friday to take him home...that's if he still has the place.  So he changed his appointment to Monday.  COOL BEANS!!!   He did it himself......no MOMMY

LOL.....normally I would be there at 4AM on Friday picking him up because he wanted out SO bad.    I said that's good and left it there.........that's all I said!!!!! :)))    I'm so proud of ME....Mom didn't step in for once.

Ok.....It might be little for some but for me...WOW    I also know I have lots to learn but it finally has started.

One Step for Cathy......one giant leap for Cathy's recovery!!

Good for you! That's great progress. One thing I learned at an Al-Anon meeting for parents of alcoholics that really helped me was, "No means, no." Stick with your convictions- your son will be better for it in the long run- and so will you smile

Awesome, letting him make his own decisions and following through, it is empowering for you both. Great recovery!
