Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a great holiday for us. We celebrated w/ just each other. It was meant to be that way I think. Mom is in CA w/ all my family. I am missing them but oh well...the difficulties of living up here 900 miles away. I guess it will always be that way & has been for 18 years.

We spent a lot of the time playing Trivial Pursuit & laughed our butts off. It was so fun as usual--just the two of us being ourselves enjoying each other's company. You can't beat that--laughter that is. The food turned out great helping out a little in the kitchen. My husband is the cook in the family.

By the way, I made w/ help the best pumpkin muffins ever! I didn't need pumpkin pie! I tend to overeat when I have that kind of pie. And, I don't believe I overate at all! One of the first holidays that I didn't.

How did everyone who celebrated day go?

Looking forward to Christmas already listening to Christmas songs!

Kathleen

Hi Kathleen

Sounds like a great holiday.  I had a nice one too. Bf did all the cooking and we had a wonderful candlelight dinner and took a ride later to check out some of the houses in the area that are already decorated for xmas. We're going to see his children tomorrow for lunch.  Of course I was feeling a little down due to the loss of my mom but she was such a hopeful person it felt right to make the most of the day and be grateful.  Got any of those pumpkin muffins left?  wink  Hugs.  TT

I had a wonderful day. We went to Hubby's niece's house and several other nieces & nephews came with their children, some from out of state. Hadn't seen some of these family members for years and it was great to reconnect with them and get to meet their children. We laughed till we cried - I can't remember when I last laughed so much...or felt so much love in one place.

My Spouse and I stayed in our cave where she cooked grandly and watched her football games.  I watch some but rather have interactive stuff to do.  I promised to do the cleaning up before, during and after her and all went great.  She made a new cranberry concoction in which she mixed in orange marmalade and I just loved that...winger!!  Weather was polynesian overcast and that was okay also.  This evening for dinner she made a local favorite with some of the left overs...called a loco moco which is a local treat.  Steamed rice covered by turkey slices, a fried egg and gravy...for me it doesn't get any better than that for eating after Thanksgiving.  Every thing else was nice and peaceful...normal.  I pray it went that way for the rest of this MIP family.  (((((hugs))))) smile
