Sibling relationships

My parents were both Alcoholics. Today I had brother and sister and lots of neices and nephews age 6 upwards for lunch and no sooner did i serve the food than my siblings started screaming at each other about Christmas. I tried to shout over them not to do this when all the kids were there but i could hardly be heard. How they can be so lacking in awareness-we were shouted at for years and they should understand the effect this has on children.  Now dreading Christmas where we will all be together for four days.

That's too bad saskimodo...the disease continues in the family unchecked.  We have a saying in program "if nothing changes...nothing changes".  It sounds kinds sorta trite however it is a reminder for me that if I want things to come out different I need to change whats going on inside me.  If you're not attending face to face open Al-Anon meetings in your area I'd suggest you look up the hotline number in the white pages of your local telephone book and see where and when we get together there...then get to the first meeting you can.  You can leave the screamers home too.   (((((hugs))))) smile
