Thanks to everyone who posted. It reminds me of who I am and what I need to be doing. The verbal and physical abuse is worse lately. More so since I stopped buying into the situation. ((((Surrender)))) Aloha...the abuse is unacceptable...I am a former alternatives to violence mens' case manager and use to write TROs to pull abusive men out of homes and relationships; some into jails. When I man crosses the boundary into physical and verbal and emotional abuse it is very very dangerous. Seek out a woman's shelter and ask for help and support just as you did coming here. He no longer can carry the necessary respect for a balanced relationship. That's my support for now. The rest of the family will be coming up shortly with their additions. Keep coming back Hugs...
Thank you. It's not time for a shelter yet. I know about staying safe and have places to go and Al Anon people to be with if I need a place to go. Police are on my speed dial. I understand the importance of shelters and escape routes. He is aware that I am not afraid or embarassed to call for help if I need it.
I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to have found everyone here. .
