Just want to say that it does get better for those of you who are in the middle of the mess! My friend is doing much better daily. She is doing for herself things that she couldn't do before. She prays & has faith. I am so proud of her. She can sometimes be an inspiration to me. Her values have changed & she is willing to do whatever is needed to keep her sanity.
Me, I am just hanging in! Our weather forecast calls for rain! Yay! We have needed rain for a long time so much so that is doesn't feel like fall! We need some rain before the snow falls. We have been praying for rain up here & God has heard & answered our prayers. See, I told you that it does get better. I'll be darned! Just a little example of how trusting & believing works. I am firm believer that eventually time will sort out whatever needs to be.
On & on I go! I am moving forward. I have some goals but have not really totally identified them yet. I am searching as I have been for years. The AH is doing great! His sobriety date is 10/21/06! I am so happy that he chose sobriety. He has made such a difference in our marriage. He used to act on flight or fight! He knows now that he needs to stay put & face the challenges everyone faces but w/o drinking! There again there is hope for even the most hard-core alcoholic. Meetings meetings meetings. It works if you work it!
Yes it does work if one works it & it is a lot of hard work, its a journey that never ends. Some are blessed & their AH sober up & get sobriety others not so blessed, the road is long & hard, being a single parent on one income, but some how we dig ourselves out of the hole with our HP & Al Anon meetings & some of us get zinged again when our children become adults & choose to drink & have their alcoholics genes, we are knocked back to bottom once again & find ourselves doubling up working the program because we know it works it saved my life from living in hell once , so I know it will again.
