information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal

I lived with the active disease of alcoholism in my past, I don't today. However, I do live with the active disease of my mother's Alzheimer's and I'm so grateful to Al-anon for having been in this program, because it has taught me how to practice these principles in all my affairs. I am trying to get my 2011 taxes done that I had an extention done on in April. I have lost some income temporarily to pay for home care for my mom, so it has been hard to get anything done on them. I am going to talk to my tax lady today to try to get them finished up. I would like to ask for group prayer that I can get through this time of trial. I have found this group and my f2f family to be the most supportive of me in this journey.
It's been interesting to me that al-anon people can even "get this" better than my Alzheimer's support group (who are others going through what I am) or my church (who also have 4 members with dementia in our small country church). I think the reason behind this is because we have "learned how to cope in crisis" here in these rooms we learn the tools that are so importnat in dealing with life in all it's forms and we understand how important our joint support is to each other, no matter what we are going through. I saw this also in a recent post here on the board where a member asked for prayers for her son's safety in traveling to a baseball tryout. In all things we support each other and "practice these principles in all our affairs" and that's what makes this such a unique and wonderful program!

Yes we do and it works and this is how HP wants it to be and so getting a response to your request is an automatic at least for me...like breathing or a heart beat. Walk the talk...do the prayers...do the sanity and serenity...also how could I not give back to you what you have freely given to me. (((((Overcome))))) so happy the prayers that you stick around were answered.
Thanks Jerry! I just got back from talking with the tax lady and she understood completely, and gave me till tomorrow afternoon to finish compiling the info I needed. Can you beat that? Meeting me on a Sunday afternoon! Prayers answered!
just a side... the lost income to pay for help with mom has effected me getting things done (like the taxes) because I have no one to sit with mom so I can do stuff like that (she gets into it and wants to know 'what I'm doing' if I try to do it with her in the room, so I have to do it when she's sleeping, etc.) While I was picking up my daughter from a Band/Color guard fund raiser at noon, a friend of my daughter's mom offered to sit with my mom whenever I needed her to, another prayer answered! God is good and so are you people!
