I had an amazing weekend this past weekend. There was a state conference about 35 miles north of where I live, STBAX had the kids and boy I hit the door running on Friday!!
For those who have thought about going to a conference of some kind I can only say GO GO GO GO!! It's HUGE .. the speakers there were just amazing. There were breakout meetings as well as mini meetings, panels and workshops. You can do as much as you want or as little.
I will admit to sneaking off for a nap on Saturday .. lol .. that was probably because we were all up giggling until after midnight the night before. Good grief it was probably one of the biggest blessings I have received to date as far as the amazing people in recovery. I was very blessed to hear stories and talk after. There was an AA spin as well and a couple of AA speakers that were fab. I did leave Saturday night and I'm just grateful that I had the opportunity to go at all.
The fellowship alone was more than just a little uplifting. It is the first time in a long long time I have done something just for me. I'm talking about actually going out of town for fun on my own with a bunch of other women. I have never done that come to think of it. So this is all new and I had a couple of moments of feeling that old nagging committee voices and yet .. I did it anyway .. I'm sooo grateful I did.
Anyway, if anyone has the opportunity don't pass it up. I even won a basket that was off in a raffle .. LOL .. it was a hoot! The kids were over the moon Sunday morning because it was the kids basket I got .. LOL .. so they got a little something. The tapes that are available as well (I say tapes I mean CD's) are fantastic as well.
My focus has been on anger and forgiveness and I got a 4 cd tape set and it's been really nice to have in the background as I clean. It will be worn out I'm sure .. LOL .. there is a lot of information in it. I have a LONG ways to go in that area.

GOOD FOR YOU! Way to Make a Move :D I am Happy that you got to Experience this WONDERFUL thing! I'm A Little Sad this Year because the Local Convention that we had here got canceled due to someone else taking over where it was held :( I looked forward to it Every year, this would have been my 4th :) And they just didn't have the time or No how to Schedule it elsewhere on such short notices so they had to cancel :( BUT... I Know it will NOT be my last!
It is a Wonderful Place to make New Friends, grow & Cherish Your Program... I always Felt On Top of the Moon after Mine! And I'm so Grateful It was Your Experience as Well :D
Also Enjoyed Your Excitement :D CONGRATS on the Winning too ;D
I want you guys to know something I didn't go last year because of circumstances. Ohhhh let's see .. driving A here and there, no one to watch the kids and so on the whole fact that I went is HUGE!!!! :)
You know nothing changes .. nothing changes .. welllll .. things have changed and I'm so very grateful!!!
