face to face

I went to my first face to face Alanon meeting today.  I am glad that I went.  It was really a God thing.  I was in the part of town where the meeting was, at a friend's and happened to be driving by just minutes before it started, so I pulled in and went!  So glad I did. I think I'll keep coming back. smile  Having support makes all the difference in the world.

Isn't it great when your HP does his thing. So pleased for you, it was only 3 weeks that I went to a f2f and i came away from my last meeting with the feeling in my heart and soul, that i have my own home group, the HP of the group is so strong i think.

Enjoy your road to recovery (I know I am)

God Bless

I recall finding my meeting place and how the people there put back the wind in my sails. The support that is offered there is priceless.

YAY! I'm so happy you took that chance to go in. I did that once before when I drove past a meeting and knew it was going on but it wasn't my home meeting. It was a Saturday AM meeting and I was running around getting errands done and I just found myself pulling into the parking lot right on time. I totally needed that meeting that morning, too!

I remember my first al-anon meeting over 20 years ago! I was so scared, but determined to get recovery. I had been going with a friend to some ACOA meetings, but after about a year I discovered I was primarily going for my bf, who was the adult child of an alcoholic, but I was not. I had been married to two alcoholics previously and after some research, I decided al-anon was the 12 Step program for me! So glad that you found a f2f group that you like. I've had the same home group for 21 years now, and I love each and every one of them, ol-timers and newbies alike!
