my husband is an alcoholic. he has been sober for 2 years. i love him whether he is drinking or not drinking. he is an amazing man with a crappy disease.
he does such nice things for me. we go to las vegas with my parents every year. he does this because he loves ME. he is gentle to the point of almost being a pushover. he is soft spoken, rarely raises his voice.
he LOVES animals and wouldn't hurt a flea. my alcoholic is one of the kindest men i have ever met.
Thanks debhud,
It sounds like you are blessed. Being affected by someone's drinking can result in moments when our self-esteem and self-worth are left battered and thrown to the curb. We feel like we don't deserve these great things. I love those moments of serenity that emerge when we can see more clearly :)
Keep coming back.
