This lanky but cute teenager was in love with the pretty neighbor girl. They grew up together playing in forts, falling from trees, swimming, catching frogs. His sister was part of it too.
As teens one day, he still in love with the girl, was sitting eating lunch with her. She was nice to him.
sister was watching them sitting there. He leaves and these other boys sit with her and they all start laughing about him being in love with the girl, the girl joining in. He does not know this, he thinks they are in love.
Later the sister tells him what she saw. He is hurt, yet he is very serene. She does not get it.
He tells her what he feels is his own. He owns that. It is a beautiful feeling he won't allow anyone to take away. He did not allow that meaness to ruin what he felt inside.
I liked that..... a lot. When something ends, we feel cut open. We think we will never feel that again. but in reality, we can feel it as long as we want. It is ours.
Of course we will never feel that way with anyone else! We will feel about someone else from who they are.
I hold so much love for my first husband and second. Both A's. Nothing will ever change that. That movie put it into perspective for me.
Just wanted to share this. love, debilyn

Thank you for that insight!! I needed some prospective, as you know. I of course love my son beyond words!!! That will never change no matter what he is going through. Hugs!!!! WT86
I really like this post. My sister's drinking has made the last three years a living hell. But for most of our lives she was a pretty good friend. Got to try and remember that.
