Need some POSITIVITY??!

So my photo shoot canceled, on the up side I had a great time with my gf (who I babysat for) we went out and took the kids to a park. Something so simple can uplift your spirits. The weather was off and on rainy but that didn't stop me from having a smile on my face!

Any positive happenings in your life right now? Maybe big or small....? Let's take a moment and reflect on them!

I finally have something positive to write. my sister's been sober for almost two weeks now. That's the longest she's gone without being locked up in rehab. She's going to AA daily and that's new. She would never consider it before so that's a nice change. She's a very different person than when she's drunk. It's nice. I realize she's on a pink cloud right now which will turn grey soon enough. But sobriety's got to start somewhere. Maybe this is it.

OK, small one here. But it made me feel good. I cleaned my bedroom today taking advantage of the three new shelves I have to use in the clothes cupboard since my A is gone. Things are definitely less cluttered now. Looking forward to a good nights sleep.

My kids and I rearranged our living room to make it more comfortable for us. We all agreed that we liked the change and it gave us time to focus on what we want and what makes us happy instead of the fact that their dad walked out on us 2 weeks ago, choosing alcohol over his family. Sometimes even the smallest changes feel like the biggest victories that take us from emotional paralysis to just simply living.

Wow sounds awesome! Organization is always positive!!! Amazing how sweet events can uplift our lifes as well! MadMax that is great news to hear! Yay! As much as I think it is important to come and talk about things going on in our lives I think it also important to take that time to reflect on the positive things that we are experiencing. Never discount how small those things may be. It's those little things that work their way up to be BIG things! Hugs to all.

Inspired, Thanks so much for this topic. I love it, and really now isn't this what recovery is all about? Smile.
As a result of cleaning out my yarn cabinet, I invented and made some nifty items from stuff I thought I'd never use. Will offer them for sale at upcoming craft show.
Little things mean a lot.

Today is my birthday! I woke up this morning and saw my beautiful 5 year old Daughter smiling at me. My 13 year old son woke up late, kinda irritated me as I was hoping to go to breakfast so I skipped church. No breakfast out but when he woke up, he jumped in the shower and got ready. We went to Starbucks and got my favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte and then my son suggests we go to this candy store I have been talking about going to for a long time. Me and the kids head over and the candy store is amazing. Just like the one from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We had a blast! Came home, picked up a little around the house, my son cleaned his room :) A friend and her kids came over and brought flowers, dinner and cake. She brought a card and had everyone sign it, including my kids! My son wrote that I was a great mom and he loved me. Brought me to tears. They put a huge amount of candles on the cake, sang me happy birthday and I blew them all out in one big blow. My friend had her daughter babysit my daughter and we went to an Alanon meeting together. It was a great meeting! So much knowledge and comfort in the room. I have to say, this birthday was one of the best! I could not have asked for anything more. I was surrounded by love today. I am truly blessed.

Today we went for a walk and saw a beautiful cow along the stream....wow what a beautiful picture! I was able to capture it with my phone. My girls woke up early and let me sleep in just alittle bit before waking me up. They said Mom you deserve to have a rest too! How awesome! I enjoyed that little 15 minutes extra sleep!

I was sad to hear my girls school didn't have a moment of silence for 9/11 but I created some beautiful photos in memory of it. We as a family had a moment of silence for all who had fallen.
