Reading some posts today. I guess I was just thinking about the last time I really worked & the fact that the stress caused me to walk off the job. Any applications I filled out it never dawned on me that I could not get another job because of my experience. I did however, ha! ha! thinking back; I did get a job at McD's--they must not care, just another body to fill a stupid position. But anyway, since I have lived in ID, I went through Goodwill & Voc Rehab w/o much success. So, today I don't have much hope for me to find another job & do I really want to work since today I don't have to? Just reminiscing because I can. Besides, jobs are scarce & I am not really willing to put in the effort. And, really do I want to take a positon away from someone who really needs it?
For all of you who are looking for a job or career, hang in there! Maybe your HP has real good plans for all of you! I am hopeful for others. I guess it is just in my nature.
What about doing something you love and getting paid? If I was in a place where I didn't have to work, I'd be seeing if I could work around horses, go back to training dogs, work with kids or even just get back into my art, maybe I could sell it.
Anything you really like or are good at that you could do on your own terms?
What are you passionate about? Start there and brainstorm with no judgement! Just let your imagination go wild.
Do you enjoy children? If so, perhaps you can go to your nearby school and volunteer. You don't necessarily have to work directly with children. You can do tasks for the teacher, such as run copies, file, the list is endless!
I know of one woman, about in her 60s, volunteered at a school and now is paid to be a teacher's aide. She, too, doesn't need the income since her hubby makes the bucks. However, she needed to get out and work outside the home. She seems so happy with her work. She gets summers off! She also is one of the members who runs the Al-Ateen meetings. She loves to bake and brings the kiddos goodies each week. She seems to be having fun!
Unleash you mind! Brainstorm!

I can relate very much. I had to work with a sponsor and other people to learn new skills to "cope" on a job. There is a way to push back when people overload it. It isn't the straight path that seems obvious.
