The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
"To be aware of a single shortcoming within oneself is more useful than to be aware of a thousand in somebody else. Rather than speaking badly about people in ways that will produce friction and unrest in their lives. We should practice a purer perception of them and when we speak of others, speak of their good qualities."
As I read this, I was reminded of the Alanon slogan:" Do not take anyone's Inventory but your own." As the Dali Lama points out: "It is simply more ueseful". Alanon reminds us that we can do something about our shortcomings and are powerless over others.
