Alanon/AA Meeting

Went to an Alanon meeting tonight at a center where they also hold AA meetings.  I'm in a large city so the meeting are large as well.  I found it interesting that the men for the AA meetings were hanging out in front and flirting with all the women going into the Alanon meeting.  My, thought was like don't even look me, I had enough of A's and then I wondered,,,  this would be the perfect place for an A to find another partner, a woman who's already been there and probably weak.  Oh my....  Has anyone else seen this?

If that gets too out of hand, I might ask to speak to the secretary of the AA group. There is a primary purpose to both groups and one really should not interfere with the other.

Yes, I've seen it.  I've been a member of both programs (AA mostly), in fact I met my husband there.  I have a resentment toward AA that I really need to work through, but it's based on the fact that such behavior (old) is still in effect and then they'll go inside and talk about how much better they're getting.  Honestly, I understand that sober may be as good as they ever get, but I wish they'd admit it instead of talk about how great they are.  I'm sick of it.  I can't even go to AA anymore bc of such BS.  Alanon is where I see growth; if one goes to alanon, it's not to pick up "chicks."  It's to live.  Maybe that's true for AA's in the beginning, but it stops when they get sober and the BS begins.

Sorry, but I'm just speaking my truth.  I know I sound bitter and mal-adjusted.  That's because I am.
