There are lots of great books in our program, but for me, I still find the daily reader "Courage to Change" to be outstanding....  I keep it beside my bed, and try to read it most days..... whenever I am pondering or struggling with a certain issue or concept, the index at the back of the book is a wonderful resource, as if I look up 'detachment' or 'enabling' or 'anger', etc., it points me to all the wonderful pages that address that particular subject.

Daily readers like C2C do such a good job of helping me keep perspective, have a positive thought/experience on even the most challenging days - it truly is a blessing.

Hope everybody has a daily reader of their own :)

Tom

I agree Tom

I begin each day with the reading for the day from the Courage to Change and the One Day at a Time in Alanon.

Powerful way to begin each morning.

I've got all three!

I rotate them, too. I keep one at home (my primary daily reader), then one in my car and one in my desk at work.

At home right now I have Hope for Today, in my car is ODAT and in by desk is C2C. Sanity-savers, all!

Me tooo. I have The Language of Letting go, and Meditations for Women Who Do Too Much. I love it. I feel thankful to learn from the wisdom of others because I would never figure some of this out on my own. The writers have truly shared a gift.

I try to read 1-4 of my daily readers daily and some days I need it more than others and get through all 4. C2C, ODAT, Hope For Today and Language of Letting Go. Thanks for the reminder Canadianguy :)

Agree, Courage to Change is great. Have the 12 Al Alon Steps as well by my bed.

Yep. good choice, Tom. I have about 6 daily readers (not all CAL so I won't list them) within reach of my keyboard. I usually fall asleep at my computer so I guess that's saying they're next to my bed. :)

When I get to work I light a candle and read C2C. One of my employees has joined me in this am ritual. We had a tough day last week and she realized "We didn't do our reading today!"
