Thanks Jen...Lovely message...I'm looking at the Father's Day card my wife gave me which says, "A good Father needs, Brains, Courage and a lot of Heart (picture the scarecrow, Lion and Tinman) and goes on...Fortunately the Ruby Slippers are optional".  What's ironic about this is that they, the ruby slippers, are Not Optional.  Some of the elders in Al-Anon will tell you that the ruby slippers are the metaphor for how the program started.  I'm grateful for those ruby slippers.

Any elders know the story of the slippers?

Thanks Jen...  I had a wonderful Father's Day, as I got taken out for lunch by my two kids (they paid), and both of them said some really heartfelt, appreciative comments about our relationship - it felt awesome!
