My first meeting in my new town

It was nice to have a couple woman my age. The second half of the meeting was lots of cross talk and nomal conversations back and forth with lots of interruptions, I asked if they considered it cross talking and I was met with defensiveness. Maybe I should have just flowed with it? I am from the same size smaller type meetings.  Oh well lots of adjustments which is normal. Sending you all love and support!

I must say you sure are going with the flow silly woman! I would be planning to find another home after I hear all the crap you already went thru with the smoke, drunks etc! Now this group is a dud.

Can you find another group?  You can start your own too you know?

I am so proud of you for not tucking tail and going back to the island!

How are the kids doing? Did you find a good home for your dog?

Sounds like your job is ok so far. ONE step at a time kiddo. I love your updates!!! Don't disappear on us please! love!!! debilyn

So they have a new member that knows something about meeting protocol.  The protocol is Al-Anon recovery BS...We meet socially after the meetings.  You're bringing something good to the meeting although you are a newbie.  You're okay...good you are getting settled.  (((hugs))) smile

I talked to my sponsor about my meeting and she also asked me about starting a new meeting, just seems like an awful lot just getting here and all. I know I can get stuff from this group if I can use dettachment in wanting to have the meeting run with all the guidelines that are Al-anon. I will flow through a couple meetings and see how this plays out and I will look for open AA meetings also so I can have more than 1 a week to choose from. Sending everyone love and support!

We actually had a new person to our group who has Al-Anon experience and she was super helpful in providing ESH to some of the new people there last night who were first timers.

We have another member who has just joined our group who has 30 years, and is new to us.

Already in the group is years of involvement. So it's really awesome to have those who bring their ESH.

I know we have some cross talk, but I also notice that when it seems to be too much they bring it back.

Sending you hugs and support and I like your idea to flow through a few more meetings, may you find just the right group, or the right clarity to start your own!!!!
