some anxiety but that is just me!

Just a little bit, just a little bit of anxiety today. I am doing better even w/ the pain! I am so fortunate that the doctors know what they are doing. I just wish I had private insurance of some kind. I am taking each test one at a time. I can only afford what I can afford these days. I can't spend what I have & go broke! I am not going to the poor house! Ha! Ha!

By the way, did I tell y'all that I paid off my loan on my mobile home last December? I just thought I would share some good news & that it is possible for me to be trusted by my Ah enough that he was willing to put the deed in my name too. He basically didn't trust me enough that I would divorce him & take him for everything like his past wives did. So, I own my home now & that is something to be grateful for. So, I sit here in gratitute again for what I have & what I have been blessed w/ recently.

Hopefully I will be serene today for the rest of the day. I have to be. I can't stand chaos.

Kathleen

You need to ask if the hospital/doctors have charity care. When patients have no insurance and medical bills are strapping them, most hospitals have charity care. They are not allowed to offer it to you - you have to ask about it. Some have gotten around this by posting notes on the walls with the phone number.

It is worth asking for, and I highly recommend it because that is what it is there for. Usually what happens is they have fundraisers for either generic charity funds or for specific issues. So I think you mentioned possibly having arthritis, they may have available funds to pay part or all of your bill. I work in healthcare and am highly supportive of people looking into this.

You sound good, take care!

I am on one of those "charity" programs.  Every county has to have someone who gives health care to the poor.  In my case its called "ability to pay" and is administered through the local hospital.  I can't say it is fool proof and it certainly isn't free.  But I wish I had gone on it long long ago.   Of course none of us want to switch around.  I know I have almost killed myself many a time by neglecting my health.  The ex A got VA care and one of his olive branches once was to offer to marry me so I could get that.  I am so grateful I turned down that opportunity.
