My beloved 16 year old puppy died on Sunday. She has been my faithful, loyal loving friend in the midst of all the craziness in my life she was the constant that keep me grounded and always always loved me unconditionally. I am devastated. It is taking all my strenght simply to get out of bed and go on. Just wanted to share. Thanks everyone.

I am so sorry you have lost your dear puppy.
May your heart be eased as you remember all of the wonderful times, all the love.
You must have been a very good pet mother--I think 16 years is a long time for a furry angel of that species to live.
And may you be consoled that she may have been spared future debilitation or suffering.
I have it on good authority that she will be waiting for you on the Rainbow Bridge.

Love,
Temple

surfgirl))) I'm so, so sorry. I believe Temple i& Jackie are right and that your best friend is now at the Rainbow Bridge. I hope you can take some comfort in all the good memories you have. And know that she is not suffering. Sending you lots of positive thoughts and support.

I'm terribly sorry. :( I'm certain she is still with you, looking down from doggie heaven.

My two dogs are aging fast and my little kitty cat is getting up there too.  I dread losing them as they have definitely been my anchor through so much heartache.  I am so glad you are in this program and reaching out to others who understand and care.

Maresie.

Yes it hurts horribly! I feel soo much compassion for you right now.

You do need to rest, grief takes soo much energy out of us. It's a very big wound losing our sweet animal family. I cannot even bear thinking about losing my love Tavish Basset Hound.

Well I cannot think about losing any of them. You are right in that hell, and it is hell, a deep pit of pain.

Please rest, eat well, pamper yourself. It takes time for the horribleness of it to go away.

Tavish was given to me as a puppy when someone stole my other Basset. I was falling apart. NEVER had done that before, accept another puppy when I lost my very old friend.

I tell you honey, it made the loss so much easier to bear. It shows how much your oldster meant to you that you could not go another day with out that love. I never had one regret, to this day McTavish, means beloved is so much a part of me. Has slept next to me ten years now and is always sitting next to me.still whines for me to come take a nap with him at ten years old.

It does not take the place, but fills that space. you need that warmth next to you, and that puppy where ever it is needs you.

If you decide to do this I can tell ya how to rarely or never have a puppy potty in the house. I did it with 7 puppies at one time for 8 weeks. three litters. (dogs bred for people with challenges)

Please cuddle up to your warm blankets and eat warm food. Let friends hug ya.

I hope my experience, if you choose to do it helps you. Please keep posting and sharing. I would love to hear about your friend, on here or in pm.

Sending you my most sincere love, debilyn

Also I wanted to tell you, your friend is at the bridge and running around with my husband ed. My mother holds her and pets her, and gma smiles and feeds her whatever she wants.

I picture this all the time. Our loved humans are there to greet them.

love,debilyn

I'm so sorry you are without your loving dog.  It is really hard to go through.  Mine died at a time when it felt like my whole world was falling apart. Please keep coming back and sharing your love for your pet with us.  So many people here understand your hurt. Dogs are such good buddies.  Hugs  TT

I am so sorry about your doggie. I love my doggie so much and I couldn't imagine him ever not being in my life. Sometimes I live doggie more than AH. (which I know is wrong but still...)

Also, someone please tell me I am not the only one who never heard of the Rainbow Bridge.
