alcoholism battle is over

As any who has read my bio, I have fought this monster for only a short period of time but have suffered so much of what this disease can bring.  However, early last week, my wife suffered a brain hemorage as a result of untreated high blood pressure from her heavy drinking.  Although she has regained a lot of movement, she cannot walk very well and has limited movement of her left side.  She is also in incredible pain and cant eat.

It is unknown if she will be able to recover, but she is definitley not able to continue her addiction anymore.  It is rather ironic that the alcoholism is gone but now I have inheirated an invalid that I now have to take care of just as much.  I havent decided yet if I am luckier or even worse off.  At least I dont have to worry about her hurting anyone anymore.

Sorry to hear this. It does strengthen my resolve to stay sober and I thank you for that. I'm so sorry your wife had to be a victim of this.

That is so very sad.
I am sorry for what you both are going through.
Please try to take care of yourself in all of this.

Dear Mr5191

I am so very sorry to hear this.   Please continue taking care of you.

Remember drinking is only a small portion of the disease of alcoholism so please  keep attending meetings and posting here.

You are not alone.

I just read your bio. I didn't realize you have three daughters as well. They are also in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry this disease has affected your life and you family so deeply. I am so glad you have your meetings and this site to help you right now. I hope you will continue your recovery. I hear at meetings (my AH isn't sober) that once active drinking stops, the recovery is still helpful in dealing with the pain, confusion, and anger that remains. Sending you courage and compassion.

I am very sorry to hear your story

Please remember that often, just because the drinking stops, doesn't mean the alcoholism is gone... the attitude sometimes remains the same, they are just not drinking. This place will help you with your day to day struggles.....

Keep coming
