am I in the wrong?

We have a few guys over here who are doing some work on our deck and their is a new guy who gave me the creepiest feeling when I met him today.  I know the other guys  but this guy was new and immediately-I felt uncomfortable.  He kept looking me up and down and trying to talk to me.  So when the guy I knew came to my door to talk to me I told him I was feeling uncomfortable with this other guy and he looked surprised and said ok.  Now I feel like I may have over reacted but I do know that I had a gut feeling that this guy is a very scary person (he was missing a few front teeth and acting like he was drunk too)  I don't want to judge a book by its cover but I something doesnt feel right.  I am so embarrassed but at the same time I feel that I had a right to say something.

Trust your gut. There's a reason your "antenna" went up.

You are probably right and you most probably judged by more than his looks. I recently had a conversation which was very interesting -professionally, but I would not meet that guy privately. He looks very good but my gut tells me to keep my boundaries up and clear!!

Trust your instincts. It's a good thing to practice as often as you can.

Hey good for you! If more people listened to this they would be alive.

Be careful, those people scope your place, look for weak spots. Keep doors locked and protect yourself.

Lotsa people like to still think we are safe,la la la, we are NOT. Be aware, pay attention.

You can always say to people who make ya feel creepy, "Just so you know, I am very protective of my home and family. Everyone who is on my property needs to treat us respectfully. I will not hesitate to invite people to leave if I feel the need to." He is new, he does need to know boundaries.

I have found taking the upper hand makes me not be a victum. plus they don't like to deal with aware people.

I am proud of you!! even if you are wrong, who cares, you are protecting you and yours.

hugs, debilyn

Trust your gut. I read "THe Gift of Fear" many years ago and it talks about just this. Your alarms went off for a reason, never doubt yourself.
