I love this post Tracy! It reminds me of why Step Two is where it is, the necessity of building recovery on a RELATIONSHIP to Higher power, a power greater than ME, and certainly greater than my alcoholic and anyone else I had made my higher power.
I think we can all lose it sometimes, that's why it's so important for me to take the suggestion to "keep coming back." If I don't, I will slip back into old thinking, and then old behaviors will follow.
Thank you for this ((hugs))

The prayer isn't for Higher Power to change our lives, but rather to change us.
In the afternoon had the opportunity to hear some AA shares. One gentlemans share was the best share I have ever heard.
He spoke how people caled him holy....
He said he looked it up in the dictionary the word Holy and it said wholesome. he said at that time I was in bits anything but wholesome. He then said that he was wholesome today thatnks to his Hp and the programme. he said so much more it was a very healthy share, it gave me lots of hope for my own recovery. One thing I have noticed is that all the people who are really healthy and working a good recovery programme have developed a realtionship with their Hp which is the centre of their lives. they work on having a conciuos contact with their Hp and have humility that they are not in control that they are powerless over whatever.
I try hard to have a consiouc contact with my Hp but sometimes I loose it. Humility is another thing I need to work on and realsie that i am responsible for me and me alone.
