Hi everyone, i am here hoping to get some wisdom and insight into this disease. I have posted my info on my Bio if anyone is interested. I am recently seperated (His decision) my AH " Doesn't want to be accountable to anyone. " He is living in a small apt a few miles away. He's been inconsistent with finances for our daughter and I. Is keeping complete control over it. When he left he was adament about getting a divorce asap. It's been months with nothing done. I am unsure of what the future holds for us. I will learn to give it up to God everyday. I will take steps to take care of myself and our daughter. I am on a journey. I am slowly becoming hopeful again. I am glad I am here. Beckylee

Aloha Beckylee...if you haven't already go to the white pages of your local telephone book and look up the hotline number for Al-Anon in your area and call that number to find out where and when we meet so that you can come and join us in recovery. Good to have you check in on the MIP board...miracles happen in recovery. ((((hugs))))
I hope you are able to make it to face to face meetings that is where I found my wise old sponsor and welcome to MIP! The hotline number is under my signature also here. The disease of alcoholism is generally is a fast and furious ride of insanity that leads straight to crazytown, but with Al-anon I have learned not to board that train near as much. I hope you are able to focus on your Al-anon recovery program and take care fo yourself and your daughter. I am glad to hear you are already turning things over to God! Keep coming back. Sending you love and support!

Hi beckylee and welcome. I can relate to having a partner who would prefer not to have to be accountable for anything or to anyone. It feels very abandoning. It is the immaturity of the disease though. It makes people self centred and narrows their perspective. And we can't fix that. But I have learned that I too come from an emotionally codependent place and that is why I have always attached to messed up people. Once that fact sank in, I am free to fix and heal myself. So I have to bring the focus back to me and to the present. We don't know what the future holds, but I believe that doing the next small simple step that feels right (that is caring about me and based in self worth) will lead down the path to whats meant to be. I wish you much support and all the tools al-anon has to offer. Tigger x
