I was walking by the mental hospital the other day, and all the patients were shouting "13, 13, 13..."
The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a little gap in the planks, so I looked in to see what was going on.
Someone poked me in the eye with a stick. Then they all started shouting, "14, 14, 14..."
I am sorry, but I read this and it made me laugh so hard out loud today! There is some truth to it also, there have been several times I butted into something that was not my business and I ended up getting hurt over it. I think we need humor in our day to day. I love to laugh and thought I would share this. I hope someone else out there gets a giggle out of it the way I did! Sending you all love and support!

I too giggled at that story. Before alanon I would say:Of coarse I HAD to look and check it out. Today i understand the power of MYOB and staying in my own Holu HOOP.

That made me laugh too. I got a lot of push-back from others in the family who wanted me to talk about business that was not mine to talk about. It is not just a matter of keeping secrets. It is a matter of who's life is it. If it isn't my life, it isn't my business. I heard someone say, "if it doesn't affect me, I don't want to talk about it."
This one came back to visit me the other day, when I let someone's drama ripple into my life, so today they are saying 15, 15, 15, haha! I stopped peaking through the fence and am back on my walk minding my own business.

Fortunately, one of your eyes is still in good shape. It stayed on its side of the fence. The other one - well, it's just grateful for the reminder to keep its focus on itself.
