more money & way too much!

I received another check on Monday--more than the last one. I am so blessed that my dad thought of how he was prepared for his death. I am so grateful that he can share so much that he worked for & was able to retire & be happy before he died.

How I spend it is really up to me. My old counselor gave me advice & suggestions as I think of him when it comes to money. He was my financial adviser for many years until he had to quit working. I admire him so much & respect his judgment. I will ponder the thoughts I have about spending any or all of the money as time goes by. One idea was to pay off some credit card debt. At least one of them will be paid off.

I am just so grateful today. I really have all my needs met--I hope my wants don't get carried away! The program has taught me to think before acting. And, I am trying to turn things over.

I will let you all know how it is going. I am certain that it will be OK.

Kathleen

I have a policy that I've used over the years when it comes to spending money: I give the decision 24 hours. Anything over $50 unless it's emergency related(like car repairs or something) gets put into my 'think tank' overnight and I decide how much I really want or need that expense. I just agreed to spend $1300 getting my pool fixed and it wasn't easy but the tile is chipped off in areas, the spa step is totally cracked and these things need to be fixed. Then I put braces on my kid today and I went into SHOCK!! I can usually only handle one big expense at a time, LOL!

And, yes, you are blessed. When my dad died in December I knew that he hadn't put any money aside. He quit working years ago because his health deteriorated so badly from the drinking and smoking. So glad that you are able to appreciate his forethought!

I love dogs' response reminds me of my elder sponsor...told me and showed me the "walk" of the program of recovery.  If I did something different than what I use to habitually do I got different consequences.  Some of the different consequences were awesome!!   (((hugs))) smile
