Way to Go Techee

I know how hard this time is and am so glad that you have found face to face meetings. Keep showing up.

I'm getting a little more comfortable and share a bit. The people are SO nice and caring. I'm learning little by little (I know it's a long haul), but I'm motivated.

What I'm feeling now is the sadness when I get the 'blocked' phone calls that I know are from him....that he is thinking about me, and unfortunately 6 weeks isn't long enough to stop thinking about him either.

It's like I have to keep reliving all the horrible ways he spoke to me or treated me and all the lies he's told me, to keep from caving in. He is an alcoholic and will not change unless he wants to and HP helps him. I can't save him. I didn't cause it, I can't control it and I can't cure it. Those words have been so helpful.

I just felt the need to let people know that progress does happen, its just really slow, lol.

P.S.....Please HP.....let my love fade quickly.....please. It hurts and thank you HP for all you've done for me.

I agree...Good going Chee...keep up on those meetings and thank you for reminding me how a great part of the program works.  "If you keep and open mind you will find help"...you'll hear that in the closing statement.

Hugs,

Keep coming back, good for you on 3rd meeting it makes such a huge difference. I've also had to remind myself that when someone is an addict they are an addict for life .. the question is are they active or in a program of recovery. Being an addict is lifelong. So when you find yourself doing the dance of rose colored glasses .. remember this is where they are at and yes, you can love them where they are at from a distance and still continue to move forward with your own program of recovery.

Hugs P :)
