The Bird of Paradise

Hawaii flowers 005.jpg

that is what my Avatar picture is and no I'm not supposing you all don't know.  I put that up because I got introduced to this one particular bloom in my neighbors yard and it stole my attention and I had to get a picture of it for my photo file.   It's not like other flowers in its shape...It has one petal which is the most stunning shade of orange I can ever see and then there's that lavender/blue spear which thrust from the center of it and points the other way.  Another petal of orange which lays in a bed of green, light reds and pinks takes your attention in the other direction again.  This is the best show on earth for me and I don't hear any bragging from HP.   There is nothing out here I have to do anything about other than look, smile and feel grateful for.  I hope the picture comes out.   (((hugs))) smile

I love this plant! I have a small one on my front walkway ( I live in AZ and we can grow them here in partial sun) and I can't wait to see if it will bloom. It's a young plant and I have 4 hibiscus plants growing along the walkway too, that I love. One of them just bloomed over the weekend and it's a bright yellow that is so gorgeous, the other 2 that have bloomed are bright red. I keep wondering what the 4th one will be. Thanks for sharing, Jerry, I am a flower lover if you can't tell, LOL!

That is absolutely beautiful Jerry! Thanks for sharing. I live in Minnesota and have NEVER seen a flower like that. Absolutely breathtaking. :)

Gorgeous. I also love that it's the season for the Jacaranda trees with their purple blooms and their flower petals blanketing the ground below in a sea of lavender. Just gorgeous. HP does some amazing work. I'm grateful my HP granted with with the eyes to see it and appreciate it.
