to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
My sponsor and I have decided to go our separate ways. Officially "for a while" but part of me knows this is permanent.
She's got stuff going in her own life right now, and has been drifting further and further from the program... she's been too busy to meet with me for a while, and when we did manage to find time to meet she spent all the time talking about non-program stuff.
She, of course, has the right to live her own life however she chooses to so do, and if she's gotten to a point where she doesn't feel that she needs Al-Anon to be a major part of it any more than I am happy for her... but I don't think either of us benefits from trying to continue a sponsor/sponsee relationship under those circumstances, so I guess this leaves me looking for a new sponsor who is actively involved in the program.
I am grateful for the time that we worked together and all that she taught me.
I fully believe that one door closes another door opens, .. I will be sending lots of positive vibes your way for a new sponsor who will take you to new wonderful places in your healing. May your old sponsor continue in her own journey of healing and continue to touch positively the people in her life.
