information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
Even those of us who can identify the problem as active alcoholism probably have no idea what to do about it. We only know that we have tried lots of things that didnt work, We may have poured liquor out, hidden it, hidden money that might pay for it, even taken a few drinks ourselves in order to leave less for the alcoholic or to feel more part of their lives, Most of us have argued, pleaded, bargained, threatened, walked out, come back, given ultimatums, failed to carry them out, or carred them out and gelt guilty. We have tried to reason with the drinkers, scheduled their fee time, monitored their behaviour. We have complained, we have prayed. We have tried to avoid doing anythign that might cause the A to drink. We have searched for opportunities to make the drinker see how destructive drinking can be. Mostly we have hurt we have worried, Now we turn to alanon as a last resort, hoping to find a way to put an end to the drinking once and for all, or to convince a loved to get help.
We come to alanon for many different reasons, but we stay for only one: we want our lives to get better.
I have tryed all those things. Hearing that other people tryed them to is helping me that i am not alone. I too had a alcoholic father. He died young. Now i live with my husband and all i do is ask what i did wrong in life.
