He left this morning

Last night 3 weeks out of rehab, his 6-10 (?)th time drinking I told my husband he needed to find some other place to live while he works on his sobriety. It was so anti climatic as if it was inevitable. My husband said he understood, there was no yelling, and just a few tears.

I am scared how quickly it happened but I need to stick to the boundaries that will hopefully enable us to be a family in the future, and I do want us to be a family. I need my boys to know a father not drunk.

Thank you for letting me share

Hugs,

So sorry that you are in so much pain. I hope you have support in place for you and you are currently attending alanon. If not I hope you will consider going. You are not alone and you shouldn't have to go through this alone either.

Keep coming back, sending love and support, P :)

Kinda sorta how it went between me and my alcoholic/addict wife.  When it was done it was done and we quietly moved forward.  No need for any of the old usual drama and crises and chaos.  Time to do something else.

I hope you're attending Al-Anon face to face meetings.  The support in there is absolutely marvelous.

Keep coming back (((((hugs))))) smile

I'm at the same point you are currently at. I asked him to leave last week.

It does hurt but I know I need to find me again - I have gotten lost somewhere in the last few years.

Good luck and hugs to you!!!

Sending you tremendous support. I hope you can find some face to face meetings to get the support YOU deserve! They have helped me become a better wife, parent, and most importantly, a better me. You are not alone. hugs

Boundaries are very important. Thanks for sharing and just know that you are not alone. Many here have been through similar and there is great support within Al-Anon.
