My husband cannot work right now because he broke his neck (fell from a tree, he owns a tree service, he's in a brace for at least another month) .. he cannot drive either. But every day he finds a way to a meeting and three times a week he finds a way to his outpatient appnts. He inspires my recovery at times. We don't have money for any fun really or any luxary items and guess what? I am grateful for that. I feel spiritually awakened by our financial disability. I have all the time in the world to read, write, pray, meditate, walk... this is what I am grateful for...
My bills are paid.
There is heat blowing from the vents.
I have food to eat.
When I turn the knob, hot or cold, fresh water pours out of the fossett.
I have a safe car, and gas to get me to and from work.
I have a job... that I enjoy and am good at.
I have books and books and books galore to read, pens to write and paper to write on.
An old guitar with rusty strings
The internet to teach me how to play the guitar :)
Entertainment in the form of five channels to watch on TV
Friendly people to smile at me
the compassion to smile at those who dont smile back.
A warm coat, scarf, gloves, and boots to bundle up in and walk the neighborhood
A safe, snow globe of a town to stroll through
COFFEE!!!!

Michelle, I couldn't agree with you more, my bills are paid and i've a roof over my head. So many don't, so many are worse off and so many tend to cry about what they don't have instead of looking at the blessings they do have. Thanks!

All changes, even the most longed for, have their melancholy; for what we leave behind us is a part of ourselves; we must die to one life before we can enter another! ~ Anatole France
You continue to inspire me. I just read a book "Daughters By Design" by Paula Jarot, she adopted 2 cambodian children and her story is remarkable and I know one of her daughters and they are amazing young girls. I can not fathom their early years growing up looking for food in dump heaps and knowing true starvation. I know I am truly blessed and spoiled! Thanks for the reminder! Keep up the great work!!!!
