The co-worker who yelled at me yesterday apologized today. A *real* apology, not an "I'm feeling guilty so I'll say I'm sorry, but here's why it was your fault I yelled at you".
I'm not sure I've *ever* gotten a real apology from someone who's blown up at me before.
I wish it was acceptable to thank him for what this whole incident has taught me... that there actually are people out there in the world who behave in healthy ways, it's not just some idealized concept from a book that never really happens...
Anyway, I have a new respect for him... I'd seen him angry before (just not at me), and always been kinda scared of him -- somehow the fact that he sincerely apologized after he calmed down makes me much less afraid of him now.
