The material presented
here is not Al-Anon Conference Approved Literature. It is a method
to exchange
information, ideas, feelings, problems and solutions on a personal
level.
Someone sent me a message that my "posts are deep, thoughtful," but nobody knows who I am.
He also wrote please introduce yourself to us - I think you'll find a lot of friends on here.
I never thought of introducing myself... rather letting people know who I am through my writings. This is a more difficult than posting my writings, but Ill take his kind suggestion.
Hi, Im Generic Writer... a VERY grateful member of Al-Anon.
I created my Al-Anon blog because Im a father struggling to make sense of my sons addiction. And I wanted to share with others my experience, strength and hope, and the simplicity...the beauty...that is Al-Anon.
I stay anonymous for two reasons: so that I can write about Al-Anon (...we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and films... I consider Internet part of that), and to keep my sons anonymity.
Al-Anon is not a group I ever wanted to join, and Im still looking forward to my graduation. As they say, though...I came to Al-Anon to fix my son, I stayed to heal myself.
And Im now VERY grateful that I found this loving room. Thank you for your kindness.
I am very thankful for your posts. I too am trying to make sense of my 22 yr old son addiction, I am new to posting I wish I would of done this years ago.
I have been away for awhile, but HP has seen fit to bring me back. I am glad to get to know you on our journey.

Thank you for the introduction. It is so nice to get to know our newcomers a little bit better.
Yesterday a member said in our morning meeting that I don't think people wake up one morning and say my life is terrific, I think I'll go to Alanon. Many of us go in spiritually crawling on our hands and knees asking for help.
So, welcome to the board. I do so look forward hearing more from you. I am glad you are part of the MIP family.
HI GW! I am Michelle. I am also a grateful member of Al-Anon, who came seeking advice on a hopeless situation and ended up learning that it starts with me, no situation is hopeless, and there can be peace, serenity, and happiness whether my loved one or drinking/using or not. Nice to meet you, glad to have you. I plan to check out your blog.
