a new day has come!

It is definitely a new day in my life. Things are really looking up. I am so grateful & am willing to do the 3rd Step--turn my will over to the care of God of my understanding. I have grown more spiritually in the past few years even though I  practice organized religion. I guess it takes what it takes!

Well...I never got around to letting you all know how the Gratitude Banquet went. I was unable to access MIP yesterday. Anyhow, one of our own won two baskets donated from the groups in our area. She was so lucky! Also, we made it home OK because we prayed almost all the way home. It was over 60 miles home & we did it in about 2 hrs.? I can't remember but we went real slow on the icy roads going back. On the way there it wasn't too bad.

I am still very grateful for so many things but the thing I am most grateful for is that my Ah has 5 years of sobriety--I didn't really know where he was before he got put in another mental hospital--bipolar disorder, too. Anyhow, I am also grateful for the fact that he hasn't smoked a cigarette in almost a year. And, I know this isn't GA Anon--he hasn't been to a casino in over 5 years--he is also a compulsive gambler. I am not taking his inventory--he knows all his addictions well.

Me, I am just grateful that I am not currently locked up in a psych ward. I have been a retread in those "crazy" places. I am healthier today than in the past even though I slipped in May due to all sorts of other crazy things. I managed to stay home & recover w/ my Ah who nursed me literally back to health--him & my HP.

So, if you have no reason you think to be grateful, Just look inside & you will find something you can be grateful for. And, besides, gratitude is catching!

Kathleen

P.S. Next time I get on here Thanksgiving will have passed. So, everyone in my MIP family have a great & sober holiday!
