I am hoping this will be the fun trip I foresee with my kids and catching up with my childhood friends and their kids. I have a few things booked and bought the plane tickets so it's on. Last time I was there almost 3 years ago, I fought with my Mom so much and couldn't stand her live in boyfriend who sells pot out of my childhood home.
This time I have Al-anon and am going to plan on a few meetings while I am out there and there are a lot of meetings in the big city wow! I am going to take my kids to the L.A. planetarium and to a museum and through Hollywood and my old stomping grounds. I am going to take them to the ocean and Disneyland and am only staying a week, so with doing these things with my friends and Mom I am hopeful with my new mind set to have a good time. I am taking my toolbox with all my new found tools and am excited. I have alittle anxiety about it, but I can let it go to my HP and stay in the moment and it really is nice to have something like this to look forward to. Since my Grandma passed my Mom said I could borrow her car and it saves me money on a place to stay and a rental car. I bought the plane tickets and my Mom bought Disney passes for our Christmas presents and is willing to watch my 3 year old for my 13 year old and I to do some big girl stuff too. I am really looking forward to this and am just asking for some thoughts and prayers for my trip, I am going Dec 6th in between Thanksgiving and Christmas because of some shared times with the girls and thier dad for the 2 holidays. I have been planning this for a couple months and now it's all coming together. I am now pushing through my childhood resentments and doing it. I am sending you all love and support on your journey's!

Breakingfree: I think there are good meetings down there! I am a CA native uprooted to the north. Maybe you can attend one & let us know how it went if you have time anyhow!
Either way you look at it, I am sure you will have a good time!
Good for you, it sounds like a great trip! Get through those past resentments and have a good time in the present. It sounds like you (and your toolbox) are ready for this. I hope you have a wonderful time.
