Bill, your post immediately reminded me of a line from the David Bowie song Changes, "Time may change me, but I can't trace time." I guess time is another one of those things we have to accept we cannot change, even if we do set the clocks back an hour here and there. It's funny, David Bowie did a song called Changes and a song called Time. This was a fun inspiration for me to listen to both of them again.
"I still don't know what I was waiting for And my time was running wild A million dead-end streets Every time I thought I'd got it made It seemed the taste was not so sweet So I turned myself to face me But I've never caught a glimpse Of how the others must see the faker I'm much too fast to take that test
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes (Turn and face the strain) Ch-ch-Changes Don't want to be a richer man Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes (Turn and face the strain) Ch-ch-Changes Just gonna have to be a different man Time may change me But I can't trace time"

"Breaking up is hard, but keeping dark is hateful I had so many dreams, I had so many breakthroughs But you, my love, were kind, but love has left you dreamless The door to dreams was closed, your park was real and greenless Perhaps you're smiling now, smiling through this darkness But all I have to give is guilt for dreaming."
