My A just left for an AA meeting????

If you have been following my posts the last couple days I'm sure you probably have the same puzzled look on your face that I do right about now...lol

The other day he said he wanted to go to an AA meeting but at the time he was high on H... I wanted soooo bad to tell him "don't go when you are high, how rude."  But I didn't... I just said "yeah?" and kept my mouth shut.. His life not mine... He ended up nodding off and eventually sleeping and so he didn't go...Then he got really bad again right after that ( a day or two after ) I just told him last night that we are BOTH sick and I hope we can fix it before we kill each other...ha ha Of course not literally.. He said "I'm not sick." (He knows he is and admits it all the time but he was in that mood) I just said, "ok well I love you either way" and went to bed...

So, today he is at a meeting... I'm not going to jump up and down for joy because I've been here too many... But for today... I'm proud of him!!

(((kris))) Good for you-for not jumping up and down for joy, that is. But still, all things one day at at a time . And today he has expressed a desire to get help.
You SHOULD be be proud of him. I hope this effort on his part ¨sticks¨. But whether it does or doesn't, keep taking care of yourself.

good stuff Kris, and ya know what - even when they are high or drunk - there are an awful lot of worse places they could end up than at an AA meeting....  my ex-AW used to chair the occasional meeting, drunk as a skunk..... not sure how well that all went over, but she eventually DID find sobriety...

Keep coming back

Tom

Wow. I did a double take at this post and then checking to see if that was really you! Such a change in circumstances and it's a big step for him. You really sound wise in your perspective, letting him do his thing and not getting too excited while still feeling proud. Wishing you both well ~ Doozy

I have been told of a few occassions where there may be a non sober person show up at an AA meeting.  I am under the philosophy you get there however you can get there.  One never knows what he will hear that night.  I am just glad he had the idea and decided to go with it.

I see drunk people at meetings often...not unusually. People think AA will make them sober like a cup of coffee (which also doesn't work lol).

I guess its just like canadianguy said ... There sure are alot more awful places they could be... At first i was thinkin "how rude" to the other people that are actually sober there.. The more i think about it, reguardless of if u are drunk or high, if u have a problem with addiction.. Thats the right place to be!!!

Great news, Kris! Yes, I must say I'm surprised, and so pleased! Whether he continues or not, well, not your choice, huh? You're doing SO great, I'm so proud of YOU! Keep working it, girl, you're doing great!
